Murdoch Mysteries - Invention Convention

Role play 1: Famous detectives or Great detectives are often referred to the fictional character in detective fiction to distinguish it from real live detective. He (or, less commonly, she) relies on powers of deduction/ratiocination and educated thought to solve crimes. Great detectives include amateurs, private investigators and professional policemen. They are known for being themselves instead of the fictional work which they appeared in.

Investigate the shooting death of inventor Karl Schreyer and present your enquiry to the Attorney General and his staff. You will give means, motive, and opportunity for this murder with a three-minute presentation and five slides and pictures or a short video. The other students will play the roles of the Attorney General and his staff.

Role play 2: The Attorney General and his staff. The Attorney General does not direct or cause charges to be laid. While the Attorney General and the Attorney General's agents may provide legal advice to the police, the ultimate decision whether or not to lay charges is for the police. Once the charge is laid the decision as to whether the prosecution should proceed, and in what manner, is for the Attorney General and the Crown Attorney.
