The boarding facility

Saint Gab' - L'internat

The boarding facility is a socialisation structure to help promote open-mindedness, adherence to the common rule and respect for others. The purpose of the boarding institution is to help young people grow and acquire independence through time management and community life.

The boarding facility is a welcoming, listening structure. It welcomes youngsters in all their diversity and serves as a place of mediation in touch with young people and their families. Adults are on hand to help young people get to know themselves better and build an identity.

The boarding facility is also a structure to aid personal projects. It offers a top-notch work setting and teaches young people how to organise their working time. Study time is adapted according to individual levels and specificities. Managers are attentive to young people's projects, they diagnose problems and attempt to find a solution. Academic support is largely developed at Saint Gab to help young people relearn how to work.

Each level operates independently, in a way adapted to the pupil's age and the site in question. They are governed by rules that complement the general rules of the institution. Each level has classrooms, study rooms and recreation/sociocultural areas and a courtyard. Study days are supervised by an educator working in liaison with the pupils' teachers.

The educators are tasked with providing assistance and support to help equip young people with the means they require to develop fully.

  • It facilitates personal projects.
  • It promotes a work-conducive atmosphere and quality of life.
  • It develops the pupil's independence.
  • It helps get to know pupils through their day-to-day atritudes and in the various activities on offer.
  • It helps pupils with organising and managing their rooms (cleanliness, tidiness, respect for property).

The boarding facility also offers extra-curricular activities adapted to each level. The recreation/sociocultural areas are equipped with: board games, billiards, table football, television, free internet access, networked games rooms, reviews, music... Football, basketball, table tennis and volleyball can all be played in the courtyard. Pupils can also join the sporting association or clubs on offer (modelling club, astronomy club...).

Other examples of leisure pursuits include: cinema, skating rink, Cholet Basket, trips into town, bowling, concerts, theatre, karaoke evening in the recreation/sociocultural areas, crepe evening...
These activities are aimed at all pupils, whatever your division. Feel free to take part and use the opportunity to meet pupils in other areas of the lycée, go to venues you do not usually frequent.
Likekwise, if you have any Recreation projects, feel free to contact us with your ideas.

The accommodations are managed by an educator who is responsible for his/her group for the academic year. Each pupil is given one- or two-bed accommodation depending on the level.
