Saint Laurent sur Sèvre

saint laurent sur sèvre

A rich heritage and a lush green valley...

Tucked away in the heart of the Vendée bocage, 10 Kms from Le Puy du Fou, Saint Laurent sur Sèvre owes its name of the "Holy City of Vendée" to Louis-Marie Grignion de Montfort. Some 25,000 visitors a year, including Jean-Paul II in 1996, gather to meditate at his tomb in the basilica. St. Laurent also boasts 2,500 pupils, including 1,300 boarders at the Saint Gab education complex.

Plus, it's also easy to enjoy life at Saint Laurent and saunter along the many footpaths and green lanes alongside the Sèvre Nantaise in any season.
