Lessons are given in a recently refurbished room, laid out and suitably equipped for the teaching of the visual arts :

  • A work space for drawing board or easel projects.
  • A photographic laboratory (enlargers, single reflex and digital cameras, etc..)
  • A computing workstation consisting of four PCs, a scanner, two printers.
 

Visual arts option in the fifth, lower and upper sixth forms L (literature, philosophy, languages), ES (economics and maths) and S (maths and 3 sciences) subject groups

Lessons of two-hours a week are geared towards combining artistic practice and culture.
This enables Lycée pupils interested in artistic creation to understand the different stages, from project conception through to design and involving the various research, reflection, experimentation phases for a variety of modes of expression: Painting on different grounds and formats, drawing, sculpture, collage and assemblage, prints, silver-halide and digital photography, computer graphics, etc.).

Preparatory work for open competitions to enter art schools :

The visual arts option is a vital tool for pupils wishing to steer towards trades relating to the graphic and visual arts. Pupils can thus, throughout the programme, build a portfolio of works to be able to ultimately compete for entry into schools of design, advertising graphics, architecture, decorative arts, Fine Arts.
